Sevgili veliler,

2. döneme başlayalı iki hafta bitti ve  biz öğrencilerimizle 6. ünitemize başladık. Konumuz “What is in the toy box?

Bu konumuzda öğrencilerimiz oyuncakların isimlerini, yer zarflarını( Prepositions of place )  ve şekilleri öğreniyorlar.

Kitabımızda 6. ünitenin poster reading aktivitesini yaptık.

-Who can you see in the poster?  “Anna, May,Sam”

-What can you see in the poster? A computer, a toy car, a ball, a toy boat”

Daha sonra  şarkılarla oyuncak ile ilgili kelimeleri tekrar ettik.

-British Council sitesinden  “Teddy Bear ” hikayesini izledik ve sorulara cevap verdik.

Daha sonra yer zarflarını öğrenmeye başladık. “In,on,under,next to,behind ,between” bu konuyla ilgili video çalışmalarımız oldu fakat fotoğraflar düzgün çıkmadığı için buraya yükleyemiyorum bunun için kusura bakmayın.

Prepositions (Yer zarfları) ile ilgili sınıf içi oyunlar oynadık. Çeşitli nesneleri farklı yerlere koyarak nerede oldukları sorusuna yanıt verdiler.

Where is the ball? It is on the desk.

Where is the  computer?  It is on the teacher’s desk.

Where is the teddy bear? It is behind the bag.

Öğrenciler nesnelerin yerini öğretmenin tarifine göre tahtaya çizdiler.

The toy car between the trees. The ball is under the tree vb.

Şekiller konusunda kartlarla çalıştık. Kartlardan şekilleri ve renklerini tanıdılar. Aldıkları instructiona göre şekilleri tahtada doğru yere koydular. Biribirlerine kartları gösterip hangi şekil olduğunu sordular.

Which shape is it? It is a square. What colour is it? It is a red square.

Sayıları 1-15 arası tekrarlamaya devam ediyoruz , zaman zaman konu tekrarlarına gereksinim  duyuyoruz çünkü yaşlarından dolayı çabuk unutuyorlar. Bu kez sayıları pair work şeklinde kartlar ile çalıştılar. Öğretmen  sorusunu “Who has got 11   rabbits ?” sorduktan sorduktan sonra herkes kartına bakarak kaç tane olduğunu buluyor ve parmak kaldırıp “We have 11 rabbits “cümlesini kuruyor. Böylelikle partnerleriyle  nesneleri sayıp dikkatle soruya cevap vermenin heyecanını yaşamış oldular.

Şekillerle ilgili çeşitli worksheet çalışmaları yapıldı ve daha sonrasında ellerine verilen materyallerle çeşitli şekiller yaparak  anlattılar. It is a rectangle. Two squares. Three triangles gibi cümleler kurdular.

Hello from the friends class.
We have been learning all about toys, prepositions, and shapes in Unit six.

Here we are using our toy flashcards to say “I have a teddy bear, ball, doll and etc.” We watched a video and when our toy appeared we had to find the correct toy. Then we would say, “Okay, put it in the envelope.”

Once we learned all the toy names we started to work on prepositions.
The students paired up and played a game of “On and Under” The goal of the game was to try to put the toy where your partner said. We all practiced saying where the toy was and it was so much fun revealing all of the toy out of the Fifi puppet. The students were so eager to see what toys were inside.

Bean Shapes
Using beans from our past unit on growing plants we used bean to make the different shapes. As you can see some of the students made different pictures as well, which was super fun because they talked about what they had made. We also used the beans in and the cups to continue practicing our preposition. One student would ask “where’s the bean” and we would all say where it was.

We learned how to use on, under, in, in front of, behind, and next to.

Here we made different shapes and talked about what we made. At the end of the each student got a turn to tell us what they made and how many.

-I made 5 pink circles.

– I made 13 blue circles.

-This is a yellow triangle.

One student was making a person and said he made a man.

This is a game we played to review toys and prepositions. One student would run to the table take a toy and put it in, on or under the box. As a class we asked “Ela, where is the cheetah?” “The cheetah is on the box.”
After asking we graphed it in the notebooks, so by the end of the game we could see how many time each prepostion was used. This was a great game and it really gave the students a chance to ask and answer questions.

Now that we know our shapes and prepositions. Each student that wanted to present showed us the picture they made using shapes.
“This is a triangle tree and a cat. The cat has two circle eyes and four circle legs.”
The best part was when someone had forgotten a word, the other students would help them remember.

Moving from here we will continue to work with prepositions and keep revising all we’ve learned so far.
